Infocus - Christopher Nolan

Hollywood has had many talented Directors who made movies interesting to watch. We got to know lots of history from their movies. Most of them left a mark hard to forget. They were able to show true feelings on screen with some best performances by few legendary actors.

The script was the powerful tool and every Director had his own style of execution. There wasn't much Science involved in the story. The focus was on the characters, dialogues, and acting.

During the recent times, a lot of Science has been used in the movies. Concepts like Non-Linear narration, Flashbacks and Flash Forwards in the screenplay, Same incidents from different angles, Unfolding of the story from different perspectives, Concepts of illusion, and Time Travel etc. 

Directors like Alejandro Gonzalez Inarittu, David Fincher, and Christopher Nolan have been using this innovative method of storytelling by evoking the interests in the audience through their complex methods in the screenplay. 

Nolan, in particular, has been an expert in this new technique of filmmaking. He has woven complex stories with multiple narratives by playing with time. He has turned moviegoers to watch them repeatedly to draw different inferences.

With some amazing work in the screenplay, he has given some memorable works and made the audience to think with his complex and interwoven style of filmmaking. Movies like Momento and Inception are great examples which had a unique pattern in terms of screenplay. 

Watching those movies over and over gave greater insights and Nolan's brilliance was vivid. He pulled off sheer magic in those films. The way he used Time was a thing to applaud. He offered a totally new dimension to the audience. His perfection gave him a cult status with a big fan following. 

The introduction of scientific concepts in Interstellar, explaining Physics and Space, with drawing new perspectives was a sensational achievement. People were left in awe with his concept of Time being used as a dimension. 

He continues to be a pioneer and has a lot to offer. His innovative narrative style will be remembered for long. The movies he made will be a learning for the aspiring Directors. And the legacy he leaves would stay on for years.
