Where is Rs. 5 ????

The Markets may have been at a record high. The financial status of large caps might have gone north. But those small and medium sector enterprises which are the backbone of people's life has gone drastically south. Due to #DEMO and #GST the consumers and traders are hit hard. Although I have written many posts raising this issue, I certainly feel a need to write this especially at the time when Congress has performed better in Gujarat reflecting people's sentiments against these policies. The PM has been trying to bring alternate healthcare services like Organic/Traditional natural products in the market and appreciable in terms of bringing up life, medical and accident insurances for all the common man especially who are poor and can't afford. Yoga has been made a practice in many schools. One Nation - One Rule - One Tax - One Policy  - A scheme which time only will tell if it receives a favorable response from the people. The agenda of this post is to describe how

Gujarat Results and its Impact

The entire nation is glued now to know the polls result of Gujarat. The entire nation nation had dismissed Manmohan Singh's poor governance, corruption and policy inefficiencies by bringing a strong leader in Modi. We all had high hopes on Modi. Although he has been taking lots of good measures in improving the infrastructure, they are still in the initial stages and would require at least 5 years to see good results out of it. Certain policy changes like Demonetization, Aadhar link and GST implementation has hit the common man hard while the reforms like these are attributed towards building an organized nation. The problem is that the common man and small, medium businesses are most affected by these implementations. The Govt could have taken soft and slow steps in implementing it but the rush, velocity and aggressiveness has been felt and taken hard by the common man. We still are to see more advancements in medical, science, health and space technologies. Defense is one sect

Messi/Ronaldo - Who's the Best??

I start with congratulating Cristiano Ronaldo for his 5th Ballon D'or win and squaring Messi's record. For over 11 years the rivalry was on, comparing them both and assessing who's the best. Few might have got answers, few might take sides but many are still searching for the answer. Here on this special occasion when C. Ronaldo has equaled Messi's record, I try to bring my point of view on who's the best... 1. C. Ronaldo has won Ballon D'or with 2 teams that plays football in a different style. He has won with Manchester United (1) and Real Madrid (4). Messi has been a one man club so far. Ronaldo 1 - 0 Messi 2. Messi enjoys ball throughout the game. Barcelona is a Messi centered club with Guardiola being the reason to find Messi's talent in scoring goals. Since then he has been a goal scoring machine for the club. At times he's also involved in the midfield trying to help him all the way from a long distance, taking long runs, beating defende

The Poet in me

The habit of writing started for me sometime during early Jan 2007. I started getting to it for the sake of my friends. To be a stress buster and to do time pass, it all started. I chose Poems initially coz they could be written within 10 minutes and I felt them to consist of lots of values. I began to write about my friends and about work in IT. The response I got was good which made my involvement more in writing. Thus I began being a blogger and my first organization provided a perfect platform to showcase talents. The blogging space was most loved and most followed in a day by many new joiners like me. Although I didn't meet the characteristics required for a Blogger, I was there in that space admiring many of fellow writers like me, learning new things and making new friends online in that virtual space. My passion for poetry was ignited by the massive response I received for my variety of poems. Almost 75% of my writings were inclined towards poetry. I felt somehow expr

Atheism - A Fashion?

Ever since this universe got created and mankind was born, the faith on God existed. He was considered to be the supreme power - the creator of all. Dozens of Ramavatars and Krishnavatars were believed to have been happened spanning hundreds of thousands of years. The total lifecycle was considered cyclic with the current Kalyug to have been completed over a dozen times. Vedas, Religion, Spirituality flourished in India and our contry is considered to be the home of God. Over 80 lacs living things and crores of Gods in various forms were believed to exist. Most of our epics and stories were based on Gods and of their different Avatars. The way we live our life was based on the categorizations made in Vedas. Although we have deviated largely from them due to the advacement in Science and Technology, there are still people who live the defined way, by staying dedicated to Gods and of their worship. The very new concept of Atheism was born over two centuries ago mainly as a result o

2 Films ~ #SalmanKhan

It was 2006 Diwali. Exactly a year after I moved to Mudichur (near Tambaram) and heavy rains slashed Chennai leaving thousands of families in distress with severe floods. It didn't repeat again in 2006 with Chennaittes hoping for a sound Diwali celebration. It was a Grand Diwali with 2 big Bollywood films Jaan-E-Mann and Don releasing on the same day. Being a Salman Khan fan for over 21 years now and a little over 9 years then (during Jaan-E-Mann release), I was hyper excited with the trailer and the fresh songs. The songs had a big build up to the movie with lavish sets, outdoor locations and being made on a huge budget. The beats of the music were not the usual ones Bollywood had seen. It was so youthful and trendy. The music did wonderfully by beating Don in an instant. I liked almost all the songs from it. The movie was under consistent news anad made headlines for all good reasons something unknown of especially being a Salman Khan film. I wanted the movie to break all b

Media in India

Each and every person likes to know what's going around. People quest for hot and happening news around the corner and even beyond boundaries. Newspapers, magazines feed their search by providing that they look for. Everyday hot news is served all over. The Media (TV) and Internet has taken this to a broader and faster extent. Technlogy has made the whole world to shrink. Nowadays news is available at the finger tip and touch of a button. Social Media has started to be the new part of this. Although various media exists, the significance of TV Media is nothing short of anything. News TV channels are available in abundance in India. Two decades later we were reliant on All India Radio and Doordarshan. Now a dozen of News TV channels broadcast news from all over the world 24/7. What is more astonishing is that the velocity with which the news comes in. Immediate and Live news are caught and read by media. Live reporters are available in the news happening places for immediate b

The Power of God

Billions of people believe in that divine unique power that drives us and the universe. For millions of years the universe has believed to be in place and have witnessed the true nature of God. God created each and every thing in this universe. Especially Indians believe that this life is a cycle. For over a dozen times epics like Ramayana and Mahabharatha happened. The Yugas were cyclic and carried the human race with it. Although it is known that over 80 lakhs living creatues were created by God and we have progressed step by step, it is still unclear to predict the overall life of this universe. It was created, lived, destroyed and re-created - as said by the Saints. The enormity of this universe is mind blowing. God has created this mother nature for us to enjoy and appreciate. Enormous amount of stories are there presenting God as that divine part taking us through our lives and teaching us human values. Even this Kali Yuga is known to have passed millions of years. Scientists t

Friend or Foe

The best person who could help you in case of an emergency, is your neighbor. But unfortunately they are the ones with whom we have the worst relationship. Every household reflects that. For some reason or the other we argue with them and make our association uncomfortable. Although we try our best to be in good terms with them, there are enormous amount of situations that fails us and turn our neighbors to foes. If this is the case of every homes within the country, think of the association between nations.... India has Srilanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, China and Iran as its neighbors. But is there even one country in the list that could be recognized a 'friend'? After all, a good economy is one where there is healthy business between neighboring nations but unfortunately we are in a shape that our neighboring nations have sanctions of economic resistance with India. We could have been a rapidly developing economy if we are in good terms with our neighb

Digital India

The time has come for us to move towards digitalization with the new technologies in place and its efficiency has increased over the years. The Indian Gov has been taking enormous step, like never before, to ensure a digital world to be embraced by the mammoth population the country holds. Linking of Aadhar to mobile connections, PAN and bank account have been a huge step towards maintaining integrity. While these steps by the Govt has to be appreciated, still the prospect of imposing them on the people and asking them to adhere to it in a short span of time, is relentful. People have to be made aware of it, they must be educated towards the need of it and with their understanding this policy must be put to practice and adequate time has to be given towards its completion. Usage of Plastic cards instead of money is welcomed by the Govt. but it is not enough to encourage users. Still there are millions of uneducated people who don't know to use mobile phones, leave alone using

IT - 2017

Ever since Donald Trump got elected as US president, there has been sudden downtrend seen in the IT sector as far as India is concerned. The IT recruitment for laterals has seen a huge drop. New opportunities are not seen and new projects are not coming up. New investments are not happening. Existing projects are getting decommissioned. Ever since we saw the 2008 recession, 2017 has been a much more impacted one but not publicized. Clients are expecting to cut down costs and are requiring lots of value added services for the costs incurred. Non performers are getting ousted. Freshers are expected to replace laterals and even lateral hires are paid less. The hike that the industry expects while lateral hiring is not happening. Even for those who have been continuing with the same organization is seeing less hike per year. The industry's future looks gloomy as most of the college students are skipping Engg. and seeking other studies. Onsite opportunities are getting less and people

Wake up TN State Govt

The State Govt. of Tamil Nadu misjudged the 2015 rains and the uninformed opening of the Sembarambakkam Lake turned into a mega tragedy with hundreds of lives lost and thousands left stranded homeless. The effect was devastating with over 8 hours of rainfall throughout the night and within 6 hours of the lake opening filled houses with terror. Almost all houses submerged with water trying to enter the first floor as few may recall. It was one of the worst man made disaster in the country and especially in the state, in the last 2 decades. The mismanagement of the situation and non administration of the Govt. came to the lights of the people. Although there were several relief measures adopted by the private welfare groups, the tackling of this situation by the Govt. was questioned by several media and political parties in the state. Why proper measures were no taken to avoid these kinds of situations was the question and where does all our tax money go? Weren't we supposed to

Chennai Floods

2005 - It was the first time since I felt floods in Chennai. I came to Chennai in 1994. Never had seen such rains and flood ever. There had never been floods to such an extent that schools and colleges were declared holidays. Everything functioned normally. I was in Chromepet/Chennai for over 10 years and had a great time there. Monsoons were never so high and there often was water scarcity. I wouldn't say that the infrastructure was better however it wasn't that bad so that we had water logging anywhere. The city was good enough to welcome monsoons and storms/low pressure wasn't that dangerous. It was 2005 when it all started ever since I moved to Mudichur (Kanchipuram district) when I witnessed one of the harmful rains and incessant floods. Water entered our house with the house submerged with 3 ft water inside. In the roads, it was around 5 ft and we had a very difficult time vacating our houses to our relative's house at Tambaram East. Heavy water logging was ever

A request to the PM

Please reduce the petrol/Diesel prices. The Govt has earned enough by caching in on the oil price in the International market and the oil marketing companies making huge profits in the last 1 year. It is high time for the consumers to smell something good. You can give them as a Christmas gift. Increase productivity. I know we purely believe in exporting chunks of food materials to foreign nations with the best quality but encourage productive mechanisms and provide relief to the farmers by providing them their deserved returns for their hardwork. Increase the supply and bring the prices down. A common man needs relief after 2 years of BJP's rule in the centre and a lot is expected for our PM. Make in India. What happened to this campaign? Where are the foreign investments? What about the job data. We don't see significant increase in jobs data. Not just internet speed, we need speedy actions on producing more jobs. The current trend in IT is not favorable. Please

R3 Travels

There are people who say, a man's life is incomplete wihtout having the habit of reading books. Books not just provide knowledge and wisdom but also refine thoughts of a man. And then there are people who believe life's most significant experiences are missed when a man fails to travel. Traveling has that much importance. It not just leads us exploring the world but also keeps us updated with the various customs of geographies. We get to understand different cultures and traditions of people. We get to learn new things in each travel. What it offers often is unknown surprises and gifts us with feel good memories. In a way, traveling in a way is as good as a book. I have been a traveler of late. Although I used to travel earlier only for occcasions, recently I encouraged myself to feel the experience of traveling. More than the destination the journey brings and evokes interest. We dream of the destination and the experience there while traveling. We get to meet different

No one likes a Blogger

I have been a writer since my school days. I was highly interested into writing though I wasn't an avid reader. I used to write plays and stories a lot in school. But the writer in me was awakened after I joined my first company, Cognizant. That offered me a platform to showcase my skills in writing. I was able to invite lots of readers through my variety of posts varying from fiction to poetry. Although initially i was highly inclined towards poetry - writing 10 minute poems, I was equally obsessed with writing stories resembling movies. I was good and well received with my variety and velocity of posts per week. I equaly enjoyed commenting on others' creations. Thus I became a blogger. However my project team and people @ my workplace with whom I interact on daily basis had other ideas. They felt blogging as waste of time and those who write aren't technically talented. They used to silently go through the posts and judge the writer based on his writings. Although m

Science - And its evolution

Mankind has evolved a lot since its inception and most of it is attributed towards the development in Science. Especially since the last 2 centuries science has grown leaps and bounds. Almost all sectors including business, medicine, technology, space, biology, mechanics has seen a rapid growth. It is truly massive to think how these got evolved in a short span of time. Thanks must go to all the scientists and inventors out there who did all R&D for us, for the better life of humanity. We have tried to map all the occurrences in the world, every creation with respect to science. We have started to relate all the events that happen with science. We have started to believe that everything has a cause-effect principle. To a certain extent, we have outgrown and even started to predict the future. Predicting the future was more inclined towards the job of the astrologers who were religious minded, but these days we have automated them as well into scientific aspects. We have b

Financial Status - The way it is

We were anxious and were expecting a lot when the Assembly elections came 2 years back. Being a Pro-BJP guy, I was expecting a huge turnaround with respect to the financial status of the country. We wanted a change and believed in Mr. Modi. Has he turned up to our expectations and satisfied atleast half of our demands is a question of this time. With third year, currently running has he lived up to the promises offered? Everyone knows he's been working hard and traveling a lot to get foreign investments into India, but has we actually got some of them yet into us? Or how much time it still needs to get them invested into our country. Although the Indian markets are on a record high with most of the stocks peaking, the basic financial elements of the country has shaken a lot. We expected things to be better after we elected a stable Govt., but have we really tasted something good? The manufacturing sector hasn't improved. Agriculture sector is down with many farmers

Profession - in the last few decades

Do you agree profession holds the major percent of our life? Do you feel money as 'the' thing we run behind in our life? Does money hold the highest stake in the list of items we seek in our life? Do you think that our job consumes more than half our time everday? Most of us would feel, Yes ! And the very object that we are behind is, Money !! That is the thing that drives us, keeps us moving forward. Everybody has a goal and that goal is to be better and to reach a specific destination. That destination is factored by our profession and value sought/received from that job. Farming -  There was a time in India when farming was the best way to make money. Farmers used to do loads of work per day under the sun and cultivate crops so as to yield to the society and make money out of it. We used to get good rains and the supply-demand chain was balanced. Farmers and Land owners were respected and even worshipped those days. Everyone felt pride in owning a piece of land for cul

Being Indian

I have been in the insurance sector for over 2 decades. This is a sector where service matters the most more than making money. This is an area where the customers are made to come back to us through our motive of having a service oriented mentality. Being an Indian favours that. the very attitude of Being Indian let us welcome the customers openly and listen to their feedback with great care. wishing them for a good life, a life filled with fun. Planning a good life is crucial. Eliminating ambiguity plays a vital role in shaping our life. Our customers are aligned to a good life through proper planning. We offer services in such a way that we always think about our customers' lives. We wish them to make it better. Being an Indian, let us to put ourselves in their shoes and perform our duties. we analyze their needs and plan for their lives. Not just their lives, but their family as well. Thinking in Indian ways, provides more value to families. We think of their families

A dream come true

For over 10 years I had been wishing to write a book. It was one of my dreams. Although I wasn't much interested in reading books, I was desperate to write one. I had friends who have been great followers of Tamil and English books. They inspired me into reading. I started out to read books but often felt tired after reading 20 pages. I was never able to complete books which had 200+ pages. And most often since the books published by authors there days span over 200 pages, I was often disinterested. I haad been a blogger for over 10 years and vested great intersts in writing. My primary interests were fictional stories and poetry. I had been long wishing to write a novel/book. Some how my wishes didn't materialize over the years. Finally this week I was able to publish 2 books this week. Both are short books spanning around 8-10 pages. They are free wo download from the below links. Please go through and let me know your comments. Thanks. https://www.smashwords.com/bo

A tribute to Sachin Tendulkar

Is there any Cricket fan who doesn't like this man? The Whole of India believes and says, "If Cricket is our religion, Sachin is our God". If we look at his contribution towards the sport, it has been phenomenal. More than a player he stood in the sport's fans as a true player and legend. All of the cricketing nations respect him and we as Indians celebrate him. The Bharat Ratna of India. I started to watch Cricket since 1996 and the only reason to watch the game was him. His unique approach towards the sport, his style and his versatility dragged me on to the game. The very reason of liking the sport was his method of play, his behaviour on/off the field. He was a true gentleman to the game and he loved the sport with atmost passion. We as fans wanted him to score century in every single match and he definitely satisfied us with his glorious career scoring 100 100s in the Internationals. He was fearless and agile towards the opponents and ripped them apart

A Common Man's Expectation from the Govt

What do we usually expect from the central Govt as a citizen of this country? We all know that it has been over 60 years since we got independence and we all feel that we didn't grow to the extent which we thought of. There can be numerous accusations on various leaders politically and financially as to why we failed to achieve that but let us forget all that and look into the current situation and how we can grow from here. We all have a stable and strong leader now in the form of Mr. Modi. As a common man what are the things we expect from him., Agriculture. This has been the primary breath of our nation. But this has been sidelined over the years. the exports have gone down and manufacturing has been hit by flood and drought. Rain water savings has been missed out and the prices eatables have gone sky high. Farmers are committing suicide since they doesn't get relief. The Hon'ble Prime Minister has to order his office to look into this issue and make agriculture

Being a Salman Khan fan

Not many from Tamil Nadu speak Hindi. This has always been a place where hindi was not highly known by the people. Having come from such a city (Chennai), speaking hindi fluently is itself a great achievement. Driven by the language's history and style, and since I was an unbearable child at home, my mom sent me to learn hindi, the national language. I was completely spellbound by the language's tradition. Then I started watching Bollywood films. That's how I became a Salman Kahn fan. Since 1997-98, eversince Judwaa released I became a true Salman Khan fan. It has been 20 years now, still I have the same love and respect for that man. Not because of his exuberant physique or his super style, nor because of his appearance but because of his acting and being himself , I liked him a lot. He owns and outputs his true identity and there's no falseness behind him. He just simply doesnt liketo portray someone else on screen. He is true to himself and acts well (though he

Stock Market Mantra

Let us see some of the basic understanding before investing in mutual funds and stock markets. If the Indian Rupee's valuation goes down (say 80 Rs for 1 Dollar)., the global investment into India's stock market will go down and the NSE will fall (say to 5000). When the Indian Rupee goes down and US $ strenghtens, we must wait till the NSE bottoms out and then start to buy the stocks (good quality large cap stocks). While the Rupee goes down you must refrain from investing and after it hits the rock bottom and starts to strenghten you must buy NSE. If the US $ is strong, you can buy IT stocks. If the US $ weakens, the global stock markets will fall and this may not be a good time to invest in stocks. You must wait until you see good upward trend in the US $ which is dependent on the US jobs/manufacturing data. If the US $ weakens, you can invest in GOLD. If the Inflation in India is high, the banks will reconsider the interest rates and the banks will be force

World Movies

I have spent over 2 decades watching tamil, english and hindi films. I was quite used to the ways those films were made. A movie with hero-heroines, families, dance, stunts, drama, love etc. Ever since 2010 I started watching world movies. Japanese, Swedish, Polish, German, Italian, Parsian, French etc. I have started to feel cinema in a totally new dimension. My perspective of movies changed totally. The first movie I watched the academy award winning Italian film "Life is Beautiful" by Roberto Benigni. I was awestruck by the simplicity of the movie. Although it was simple, the impat it brought was amazing. I then became a fan of Majid Majidi's Iranian films. Simple, Colorful, Free flowing type movie they were. Jafar Panahi's out of the box thinking for Iranians caught my attention. Ingmar Bergman's characters, the true human feelings were shown in his films. Vittorio De Sica's "The Bicycle thief" is my favorite movie. Akira Kurosawa's mov

From a true Barca fan - A tribute to Barca

When is the last time you enjoyed watching a sport? Have you seen any team that plays with passion, sincerity, atmost dedication and pride. Have you seen any group that considers sport more than their life? Have you watched any club that plays its sport like a well directed movie, like a breathtaking song, like a rythmic music, like a dream? Well there's FC Barcelona for you... I have been a Barca fan since 2010, ever sinc I started watching club level football. Until then I have been watching country level football which goes back from 1998. Both counter and club combined, I have never been in awe of wathcing any team play its sport such magnificently like the way Barca do. I am a fan of Germany International football team since 1998, but I understood football only after watching Barca play. Barca's philosophy is playing the sport like school kids, with atmost dedication and passion. There's no room for any stars or fashion. They play it like their life by applyi

Why LIC is the best life insurer?

LIC has been in the insurance field over the last 60 years providing life insurance for over 30 crore customers in India. They have been coming up with schemes according to the taste and trend. They have been the primary investment provider to the Govt of India on various development projects. A look into why they have been the best when compared to their competitors., Asset. They have huge assets with them. Mission 2020 - Dream or Reality

Many of the past leaders had talked about the Mission 2020 -  A fully developed nation. As we are just 3 years away from that milestone, have we really progressed towards that and is it possible to achieve that within the balance term available? We have voted for a change, for a better India. We invested our faith on BJP and believed in Modi. Around 3 years have passed by. Did we get what we dreamt of? What we got so far : Rural areas have been connected with Internet. Service providers like Airtel, Reliance have increased their traffic and networks are now available in rural areas. The Telecom sector which was beaten down over the last decade has improved significantly in the last 3 years. LPG subsidy has been waived by 1 crore people enabling poor and needy to get the benefits. Clean India movement has started enabling fellow citizens to feel the necessity of having a clean India. Bank Accounts for all. Even the poor has opened bank accounts making them feel the

Intro On Indian Stock Markets

This post explains my experience on entry tinto the indian stock markets. This can guide you in a way to avoid the frequently committed mistakes when one enters into the big bash of trading. The trap I fell into was looking into the past trends of stocks (say a year) and their returns. Most of the stocks were penny stocks which yielded around 200% returns in the last 1 year but they were purely operator driven. When entering into stock market investing you should do more research on the current events. Especially the US currency and US stock markets which drive the globals stock trend. After that you should look for large cap stocks (say asset with 50000 crore Rs). Banks and Pharma stocks can be bought initially since these 2 sectors favorable offer good returns if invested for 1-2 years. Don't fall into the trap of making quick money and invest in penny stocks (say asset with 30-500 crores). These will be company/oprator driven and wont give you a favorable return. If

How to have a financially balanced life?

Having a financially balanced life may seem more difficult these days due to inflation and the living cost having gone northwards. However everybody wants a peaceful balanced life. We can follow the below technique towards achieving that. We ought to save around 40% of our total income towards achieving a financially balanced life. For example, if a person earns 1 lakh per month below is the breakup., 5% of savings towards health insurance                 - Rs. 5000  per month 5% of savings towards life   insurance                 - Rs. 5000  per month 5% of savings towards mutual funds                     - Rs. 5000  per month 5% of savings towards stock markets                   - Rs. 5000  per month 5% of savings towards GOLD                             - Rs. 5000  per month 5% of savings towards Bank Fixed Deposits     - Rs. 5000  per month 10% of savings towards Real Estate/Housing Loans  - Rs. 10000 per month Around Rs. 40000 should be saved towards hav

Why Health Insurance?

In this fast moving world, where people often tend to follow an unhealthy lifestyle, end up with issues which need medical intervention. The places which are highly crowded these days are hospitals and pharmacies. They become addicted to tablets. In this unfriendly environment bound to unexpected events, we might need a plan to take care of our medical expenses. Taking a Health insurance policy (preferably with the New India Assurance company) might offer a better solution. By taking a health insurance policy for around 5-10 lacs sum assured will save our family from unwanted threats. Just in case if we or any of our family member falls sick and needs medical treatment for more than a day @ hospital, this policy can save the purpose. We dont need to arrange for a huge sum in a short span of time thereby avoiding debt. Securing our family's health should be the first step in any activity of savings. Around 10% of the savings amount should be targeted towards buying a healt
