Mission 2020 - Dream or Reality

Many of the past leaders had talked about the Mission 2020 -  A fully developed nation. As we are just 3 years away from that milestone, have we really progressed towards that and is it possible to achieve that within the balance term available? We have voted for a change, for a better India. We invested our faith on BJP and believed in Modi. Around 3 years have passed by. Did we get what we dreamt of?

What we got so far :

Rural areas have been connected with Internet. Service providers like Airtel, Reliance have increased their traffic and networks are now available in rural areas. The Telecom sector which was beaten down over the last decade has improved significantly in the last 3 years.

LPG subsidy has been waived by 1 crore people enabling poor and needy to get the benefits.

Clean India movement has started enabling fellow citizens to feel the necessity of having a clean India.

Bank Accounts for all. Even the poor has opened bank accounts making them feel the need for using bank accounts thereby contributing towards economic growth.

Digital India. Need for cashless transactions to go for clean and green India.

Life, Accident Insurance schemes launched by banks.

Black Money policy. Demonetization of Rs. 500, 1000 notes.

What we still need :

Crude oil prices have gone down but the benefits are not given to the people. The petrol, diesel prices are at record highs. Need to bring them down to enable manufacturing and other sectors provide more output with profits.

Inflation is still high. The prices of raw materials, eatables should come down. Electronic, Electric, Cement materials price should come down.

Need intervention to improve Govt hospitals and provide better health care policies at a low premium.

Stress on Life insurance has to be there. Insurance for all should be the mantra.

People should be encouraged to increase their presence in stock markets. Domestic investment must go up.

Overall governance must improve. 

Conclusion : 

Looks like we still have a long way to go and 2020 mission may not quite be possible. If the country becomes a developed economy atleast by 2040, we can be proud. Everything depends on how we proceed from here.

A Common Man's Expectation from the Govt

What do we usually expect from the central Govt as a citizen of this country? We all know that it has been over 60 years since we got independence and we all feel that we didn't grow to the extent which we thought of. There can be numerous accusations on various leaders politically and financially as to why we failed to achieve that but let us forget all that and look into the current situation and how we can grow from here.
