Atheism - A Fashion?

Ever since this universe got created and mankind was born, the faith on God existed. He was considered to be the supreme power - the creator of all. Dozens of Ramavatars and Krishnavatars were believed to have been happened spanning hundreds of thousands of years. The total lifecycle was considered cyclic with the current Kalyug to have been completed over a dozen times. Vedas, Religion, Spirituality flourished in India and our contry is considered to be the home of God. Over 80 lacs living things and crores of Gods in various forms were believed to exist. Most of our epics and stories were based on Gods and of their different Avatars. The way we live our life was based on the categorizations made in Vedas. Although we have deviated largely from them due to the advacement in Science and Technology, there are still people who live the defined way, by staying dedicated to Gods and of their worship. The very new concept of Atheism was born over two centuries ago mainly as a result o

2 Films ~ #SalmanKhan

It was 2006 Diwali. Exactly a year after I moved to Mudichur (near Tambaram) and heavy rains slashed Chennai leaving thousands of families in distress with severe floods. It didn't repeat again in 2006 with Chennaittes hoping for a sound Diwali celebration. It was a Grand Diwali with 2 big Bollywood films Jaan-E-Mann and Don releasing on the same day. Being a Salman Khan fan for over 21 years now and a little over 9 years then (during Jaan-E-Mann release), I was hyper excited with the trailer and the fresh songs. The songs had a big build up to the movie with lavish sets, outdoor locations and being made on a huge budget. The beats of the music were not the usual ones Bollywood had seen. It was so youthful and trendy. The music did wonderfully by beating Don in an instant. I liked almost all the songs from it. The movie was under consistent news anad made headlines for all good reasons something unknown of especially being a Salman Khan film. I wanted the movie to break all b

Media in India

Each and every person likes to know what's going around. People quest for hot and happening news around the corner and even beyond boundaries. Newspapers, magazines feed their search by providing that they look for. Everyday hot news is served all over. The Media (TV) and Internet has taken this to a broader and faster extent. Technlogy has made the whole world to shrink. Nowadays news is available at the finger tip and touch of a button. Social Media has started to be the new part of this. Although various media exists, the significance of TV Media is nothing short of anything. News TV channels are available in abundance in India. Two decades later we were reliant on All India Radio and Doordarshan. Now a dozen of News TV channels broadcast news from all over the world 24/7. What is more astonishing is that the velocity with which the news comes in. Immediate and Live news are caught and read by media. Live reporters are available in the news happening places for immediate b

The Power of God

Billions of people believe in that divine unique power that drives us and the universe. For millions of years the universe has believed to be in place and have witnessed the true nature of God. God created each and every thing in this universe. Especially Indians believe that this life is a cycle. For over a dozen times epics like Ramayana and Mahabharatha happened. The Yugas were cyclic and carried the human race with it. Although it is known that over 80 lakhs living creatues were created by God and we have progressed step by step, it is still unclear to predict the overall life of this universe. It was created, lived, destroyed and re-created - as said by the Saints. The enormity of this universe is mind blowing. God has created this mother nature for us to enjoy and appreciate. Enormous amount of stories are there presenting God as that divine part taking us through our lives and teaching us human values. Even this Kali Yuga is known to have passed millions of years. Scientists t

Friend or Foe

The best person who could help you in case of an emergency, is your neighbor. But unfortunately they are the ones with whom we have the worst relationship. Every household reflects that. For some reason or the other we argue with them and make our association uncomfortable. Although we try our best to be in good terms with them, there are enormous amount of situations that fails us and turn our neighbors to foes. If this is the case of every homes within the country, think of the association between nations.... India has Srilanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, China and Iran as its neighbors. But is there even one country in the list that could be recognized a 'friend'? After all, a good economy is one where there is healthy business between neighboring nations but unfortunately we are in a shape that our neighboring nations have sanctions of economic resistance with India. We could have been a rapidly developing economy if we are in good terms with our neighb

Digital India

The time has come for us to move towards digitalization with the new technologies in place and its efficiency has increased over the years. The Indian Gov has been taking enormous step, like never before, to ensure a digital world to be embraced by the mammoth population the country holds. Linking of Aadhar to mobile connections, PAN and bank account have been a huge step towards maintaining integrity. While these steps by the Govt has to be appreciated, still the prospect of imposing them on the people and asking them to adhere to it in a short span of time, is relentful. People have to be made aware of it, they must be educated towards the need of it and with their understanding this policy must be put to practice and adequate time has to be given towards its completion. Usage of Plastic cards instead of money is welcomed by the Govt. but it is not enough to encourage users. Still there are millions of uneducated people who don't know to use mobile phones, leave alone using

IT - 2017

Ever since Donald Trump got elected as US president, there has been sudden downtrend seen in the IT sector as far as India is concerned. The IT recruitment for laterals has seen a huge drop. New opportunities are not seen and new projects are not coming up. New investments are not happening. Existing projects are getting decommissioned. Ever since we saw the 2008 recession, 2017 has been a much more impacted one but not publicized. Clients are expecting to cut down costs and are requiring lots of value added services for the costs incurred. Non performers are getting ousted. Freshers are expected to replace laterals and even lateral hires are paid less. The hike that the industry expects while lateral hiring is not happening. Even for those who have been continuing with the same organization is seeing less hike per year. The industry's future looks gloomy as most of the college students are skipping Engg. and seeking other studies. Onsite opportunities are getting less and people

Wake up TN State Govt

The State Govt. of Tamil Nadu misjudged the 2015 rains and the uninformed opening of the Sembarambakkam Lake turned into a mega tragedy with hundreds of lives lost and thousands left stranded homeless. The effect was devastating with over 8 hours of rainfall throughout the night and within 6 hours of the lake opening filled houses with terror. Almost all houses submerged with water trying to enter the first floor as few may recall. It was one of the worst man made disaster in the country and especially in the state, in the last 2 decades. The mismanagement of the situation and non administration of the Govt. came to the lights of the people. Although there were several relief measures adopted by the private welfare groups, the tackling of this situation by the Govt. was questioned by several media and political parties in the state. Why proper measures were no taken to avoid these kinds of situations was the question and where does all our tax money go? Weren't we supposed to

Chennai Floods

2005 - It was the first time since I felt floods in Chennai. I came to Chennai in 1994. Never had seen such rains and flood ever. There had never been floods to such an extent that schools and colleges were declared holidays. Everything functioned normally. I was in Chromepet/Chennai for over 10 years and had a great time there. Monsoons were never so high and there often was water scarcity. I wouldn't say that the infrastructure was better however it wasn't that bad so that we had water logging anywhere. The city was good enough to welcome monsoons and storms/low pressure wasn't that dangerous. It was 2005 when it all started ever since I moved to Mudichur (Kanchipuram district) when I witnessed one of the harmful rains and incessant floods. Water entered our house with the house submerged with 3 ft water inside. In the roads, it was around 5 ft and we had a very difficult time vacating our houses to our relative's house at Tambaram East. Heavy water logging was ever
