Women Empowerment


Until the last decade, in India, Women were considered to be the weaker section and they have been constantly dominated by Men. They were oppressed on all grounds. Men were supposed to drive the family and the country while women were supposed to serve Men. The Mentality of the Men were towards suppressing the needs and benefits of the Women. Several Leaders fought for the empowerment of Women and after dozens of centuries, finally people begun to believe in its necessity after getting to know how Women were treated in other countries. Media started to highlight the need for it and there were large movements in support of Women Empowerment in India.

And the need was not just the need to bring them up but to prove their muscle against Men who weren’t that skilled but merely existed because of non-competition. First, Girls started to score more than Boys at schools. Year after year they topped the board exams despite the physical challenges they face. They started to rule Movies with their power packed performances. Classical Music, Cine Songs, Various forms of Dance and Drama – They began to show their talent in all and proved that they were beyond the levels of Men in India.

Although the reservation for Women in Electoral rolls were not up to the levels promised, they began to win elections and rule the States and Country. They were identified as hard workers and smart administrators who exhibit dignity at their work. They performed their tasks sincerely without any wrong motives. Various leaders supported the Freedom movement in India and worked in high offices for the development of the nation.

Women felt the need to work to support their families. With the economy dependent on global cues and uncertainties, Women were forced to work to avoid the monthly budget shortage to support their families. They began to help the male by working in various sectors. Right from a Daily wage worker in the construction site to a CEO of a Company, Women began to throng all sections of office. They were innovative, hardworking and showed powerful skills. It was seen that most of the Companies ran profitable because of the hardworking Women and they were more productive than Men with producing quality output in Production Companies. Several Women CEOs inculcated good ideas which became fruitful. They were good in Prediction and taking the business to a new dimension.

They were able to take care of the kids, family as well as do justice to their jobs. By 90s almost 2/3 of the Women population started to indulge in some work. The Nation began to grow as Women grew. Construction, Production Companies, Call Centers, BPOs, Marketing, Journalism, Media, Music, Entertainment, IT Companies and more. They were almost everywhere. After the IT revolution and Globalization, contribution from Women took the Nation forward. The Exports increased drastically. Their hard work improved the fiscal deficit of the Nation. The economy was moving at high speeds because of their earnings and consumer spending. Today they are the highest spenders in Online Retail Domain. It was because of the taxes they pay, the Nation was able to see a substantial growth in Fund allocation and the Nation was able to spend them in providing better healthcare and infrastructure.

In Healthcare, they have reached mammoth heights. They dominate that industry. Today we have more Women Nurses and Doctors all over the country who have better insights about health issues and to mitigate them. The results they produce are extraordinary. In Science, they have started to develop innovative ideas and create new products for use by consumers. In Sports, they have outdone Men in Common Wealth Games, Olympics and other World Sporting Tournaments.

Today, Men are aware of the strengths of the Women and have started to treat them equally. However, despite all the achievements, even today in India, in some parts, Women are considered sexual dolls and are raped and murdered. Boys must be educated at schools to treat every Gender equally and respect and appreciate the talents they possess. This can come only from Education at schools and Practice at home. With this pace if Women move on, like any other country, India too will be the best place for Women to prove and showcase their talents.

Pirates of the Caribbean ~ Mahabharata Analogue

One of my fellow blogger has an interesting analogue between the characters of the film ‘The Matrix’ to Mahabharata – the Indian Epic. I was spellbound by the similarities that were brought on the table between these two. The facts were well supported with the intentions, reasoning, reach of the characters of the movie with this magnificent epic. The relations between them were so profound.
