No to Racism

The long tiring seasons of domination With no freedom to express our thoughts Our endless fears on relentless starvation Deep down inside struck with blood clots The never-ending saga of Oppression Our family and kids dealt with humiliation When earning bread and butter became tedious The entire world that slaved us turned joyous For long we battled for equal rights Pleaded for acknowledgment and respect The feel of free air left far away from our sights Betrayed even by the Gods who ignored to protect Our stories and history written in blood With our men and women beaten for fun In our struggles alone we stood With our heads down, fearing for the gun Together we were in our mission Slowly the winds of rebel gained support Few good hearts understood our vision And bailed us from the ocean of dirt We work hard in driving the economy But still few see us as an enemy Before we think we have succeeded, we have miles to go To let th...

FIFA World Cup 2018 ~ Prospects

Image
Every time a FIFA World cup year comes, the fans get excited. Football, which has the biggest following in the world, gets to see the biggest names and evergreen performances in the club level. However, many stars fail to make an impression on the big stages with the National level. Even biggest stars like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have had outings where they failed to take their nation ahead in the crucial World cup matches. It is that time, when the entire nation depends on the entire team, with few star performers who have glorified the club football. Some new names leave a mark. Losing Ourselves #India

Image
Mahatma Gandhi, once visualized that the biggest weapon to dethrone the British was to avoid trading with them and buying Indian made products. He felt that a Nation can be broken into pieces by adopting a strict trading methodology. Most of the freedom fighters believed in his vision and used products manufactured by Indians. That Philosophy stands even today with the US imposing strict trade curbs on countries like Iran, China, North Korea, and Russia. From imposing trading sanctions to letting increase in the Oil supplies, to destabilize few economies, the US has started to feel the necessity to utilize its own natural resources. The US still stands to be a major exporter with almost half of the world’s innovations coming from them. The roots are with them and it is their ideas that trigger the business and the global markets. They make use of the less labor costs in India and China and expand their business. Of late, the Europe has been a mere puppet with f...

Has Cricket lost its identity?

Even today, Indians remember the day when they took on the mighty West Indies in the 1983 World cup and out of all the odds of them being the underdogs managed to win the ever-invincible West Indies team to grab the glittering world cup. The rivalry between India and Australia in the Test matches went on for years with Sunil Gavaskar being dominant in the Test format of Cricket, which ruled the sport until the 80s. Back then, it was magical to win a Test match on a foreign soil let alone win the series. The players had to be perfect in batting and bowling to create little chances which were vital in deciding the outcome of the game. The matches were intense, fierce. Every player wanted to make a mark for their nation and to enable the team to win. It was a 50-50 game for the batsmen and the bowlers. 250 was a good score back then and 200 was defend-able. For every run the players had to run and sweat. It was difficult to score boundaries and every shot which resulted in a boundary w...

90s ~ A Celebration #India

For almost all of them in this world, the most joyous time that they had spent in their life would be their childhood days. Especially the early school days where we used to have lots of fun apart from rigorous studies which follows. Yet we never failed to miss the fun that we had with our friends. The best of friends came from those days and rest of the acquaintances that we had after that weren’t as powerful as the ones we had during our school. Our hearts were pure and was ready to offer any help without expecting anything in return. We were built by our friends, parents and teachers. So, the most important memories were during our early school days. Since I was born in the 80s I could fully absorb the vital things that came with the 90s. I was able to fully exploit and enjoy the 90s as far as possible. Till date I never felt at any instance that I had the most memorable moments at any point in time other than the 90s. I was studious as hell but that didn’t avoid me from enjoy...

How far would Messi go

Millions in this world are a big fan of this man. Perhaps the hot and most sought after sports player of today in the world and most followed in social networking sites and highly viewed of his games. He has been winning a lot of trophies over the last decade and he’s considered as the best player in history to an extent that he’s been considered the best in this universe and few claims that he’s in fact alien and from another planet. Words can’t describe his success and the many trophies that he has won, be it the Champions leagues, Ballon d’ors, Golden shoes or the league titles – he has always been there in the winning ways right from the start of his career. In short, Lionel Messi is a phenomenon. Brought up in the support of Ronaldinho and Pep Guardiola into the devastating Barcelona side, he has always been promising and delivering the needs of the club. He was a great passer of ball, dribbler and prolific goal scorer. He has been highly supported with goal scoring alongsid...
