No to Racism

The long tiring seasons of domination With no freedom to express our thoughts Our endless fears on relentless starvation Deep down inside struck with blood clots The never-ending saga of Oppression Our family and kids dealt with humiliation When earning bread and butter became tedious The entire world that slaved us turned joyous For long we battled for equal rights Pleaded for acknowledgment and respect The feel of free air left far away from our sights Betrayed even by the Gods who ignored to protect Our stories and history written in blood With our men and women beaten for fun In our struggles alone we stood With our heads down, fearing for the gun Together we were in our mission Slowly the winds of rebel gained support Few good hearts understood our vision And bailed us from the ocean of dirt We work hard in driving the economy But still few see us as an enemy Before we think we have succeeded, we have miles to go To let th...

Losing Ourselves #India

Image
Mahatma Gandhi, once visualized that the biggest weapon to dethrone the British was to avoid trading with them and buying Indian made products. He felt that a Nation can be broken into pieces by adopting a strict trading methodology. Most of the freedom fighters believed in his vision and used products manufactured by Indians. That Philosophy stands even today with the US imposing strict trade curbs on countries like Iran, China, North Korea, and Russia. From imposing trading sanctions to letting increase in the Oil supplies, to destabilize few economies, the US has started to feel the necessity to utilize its own natural resources. The US still stands to be a major exporter with almost half of the world’s innovations coming from them. The roots are with them and it is their ideas that trigger the business and the global markets. They make use of the less labor costs in India and China and expand their business. Of late, the Europe has been a mere puppet with f...

Has Cricket lost its identity?

Even today, Indians remember the day when they took on the mighty West Indies in the 1983 World cup and out of all the odds of them being the underdogs managed to win the ever-invincible West Indies team to grab the glittering world cup. The rivalry between India and Australia in the Test matches went on for years with Sunil Gavaskar being dominant in the Test format of Cricket, which ruled the sport until the 80s. Back then, it was magical to win a Test match on a foreign soil let alone win the series. The players had to be perfect in batting and bowling to create little chances which were vital in deciding the outcome of the game. The matches were intense, fierce. Every player wanted to make a mark for their nation and to enable the team to win. It was a 50-50 game for the batsmen and the bowlers. 250 was a good score back then and 200 was defend-able. For every run the players had to run and sweat. It was difficult to score boundaries and every shot which resulted in a boundary w...

Money Money !!

Money is the vital factor that drives our lives. In fact, we have started to believe that the search and fulfillment of life depends solely on the accumulation of wealth. Although Yogic and Religious Gurus spread the need of Inner Engineering, Health and getting to know the divine power, we have always ignored them and felt that Money as the only element to seek and have it as our destiny. Since it gives all the worldly powers of life, we have lost ourselves in it. We run behind it like animals. Our milestones and targets are about getting enough of it. Since it speaks volumes in our daily life, we have become a product/slave of it. We spend almost half our day at work and it directly involves in doing business. Thus, it has become the integral part of our life and we spend our time in accumulating it. Let us look at this in a witty way about how the economy drives us. How we are manipulated and how we lose/gain money. The EURO is getting weaker and the European society is on th...

Learning from other countries

The USA has been a pioneer in Science and Technology over the last 4-5 centuries. Almost all innovations and discoveries have come from them. Their contributions are so immense that are referred and followed globally. Lots of Scientific discoveries have come from them. Even today, lots of IT software innovations and new products are developed by them for use in business. They solely have been able to drive the world forward. Although India has several cultural references of being a pioneer in Science, we have not been able to take any innovative steps in this sector. The Education system in India has improved yet we still lag other countries. Many of Indian workers of today are outsourced to the USA and they seem to perform well but they are merely users of others’ creations. We are not able to drive Science, Technology, Space, Medical, Defence sectors which enjoy major budget globally. The USA has stormed IT business and has been developing new and innovative products at large for ...

The Survivors

There are a several living things that evolved over time. Several of them had survived until today while a lot of them vanished due to being unadaptable. It is not the dominators who had survived the test of times but the ordinary living things that were flexible to the environment. A lot of animals that existed millions of years ago don’t exist anymore. While a few species have thrived over times. In a similar way, the dominators of a particular technology and work don’t prevail for a longer duration but the people who are flexible with tools and techniques sustain over a long period of time. It is the survivors who rebuild themselves according to the different infrastructure and surroundings and take the world forward. Technical brilliance is necessary, but the primitive fact is the understanding of the basics. How well we understand our platform – how comfortably placed we are in that – how well we predict the future trends – decide on our fate and our existence. We have to be...

Healthcare ~ 2018

At the time when the Indian Govt. has finally realized the importance of healthcare, let us go over the necessity of the hour to unleash the vitality of healthcare services in the country. The nation with over 1.5 billion people, it is true to provide quality medical services to the people, but did we ever take any steps to provide even the basic infrastructure for the common man? Millions of death in the nation has occurred due to ignorance. Common man has been deprived of free basic medical facilities. With over 15-20% of the population still below the poverty line, providing the basic infrastructure is the biggest challenge of the Govt. and this Govt. has ensured the necessity of it and has come up with a wonderful plan to cover over 0.5 billion people providing them with basic amenities. The current budget has a lot to go with the massive allocation of funds in this sector. For sure this sector is going to grow rapidly in the next 5 years. Lot of investment in the healthcare ...
