Friend or Foe

The best person who could help you in case of an emergency, is your neighbor. But unfortunately they are the ones with whom we have the worst relationship. Every household reflects that. For some reason or the other we argue with them and make our association uncomfortable. Although we try our best to be in good terms with them, there are enormous amount of situations that fails us and turn our neighbors to foes. If this is the case of every homes within the country, think of the association between nations....

India has Srilanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nepal, China and Iran as its neighbors. But is there even one country in the list that could be recognized a 'friend'? After all, a good economy is one where there is healthy business between neighboring nations but unfortunately we are in a shape that our neighboring nations have sanctions of economic resistance with India. We could have been a rapidly developing economy if we are in good terms with our neighbors so that the import prices would go down on goods that could be received from our neighboring nations. Our exports can also be in a better shape had we had been in good terms with the neighbors.

Although India may not be the only reason to blame for this with other countries trying to invade our land by means of terrorism, we still have made life better with best high level talks and by offering help when needed to the neighbors. A kind gesture can move mountains. Although many would argue that India has done the best when coming to talks with issues between nations, we still have spaces left void for problems to crop up. We haven't been able to get closer to any of our neighbors. Currently the situation is that China and Pakistan are so close to declaring war on India.

Time has come for us to get into talks and avoid any extravagant outcomes like war which would devastate our economy. With Europe already sinking it would not be a good move to indulge in any economic/political threats. We can go hard on providing Visas to these neighbors but kind gesture should be there when dealing with them politically. We can improve our defense mechanisms and make it state-of-the-art best but violence would not lead to results. We should go soft on nations like China which is a huge exporter in the world. Our Leaders must act now and create a good future for us. This can only happen if we have able leaders to get into talk mode and offer a helping hand when needed to our adjoining nations.
